Dawid Kasprzak received his Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences in 2019 from Poznan University of Technology in Poland. He subsequently held the position of Research Assistant at the same institution until 09/2024, after which he was promoted to Assistant Professor. Thanks to the university's strategic support for academic mobility, he had the opportunity to conduct several research stays at renowned institutions, including:
· Lukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, Division in Poznan, Poland (11/2018–01/2020)
· University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, Czech Republic (10/2021–07/2022)
· University of British Columbia, Canada (09/2022–08/2024)
· Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany (09/2024–05/2025)
Dawid joined the iR group in June 2025 as a recipient of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024. His BioZincPower project takes a transformative approach by integrating biopolymers into Zn-ion energy storage devices, paving the way for the next generation of eco-friendly and wearable power solutions.
Dawid’s expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of energy storage technologies (organic metal-ion batteries, supercapacitors, aqueous Zn-ion systems), biomass processing, and specific-task biomaterials manufacturing. His practical expertise is supported by strong management and collaborative skills, honed through teaching and supervising students, as well as participating in and leading research projects. Dawid is confident that the motivation and experience he is gaining will soon enable him to establish an interdisciplinary research team that he will be proud to lead.
